To say that we’ve fallen in love with the Cricut Mug Press is an understatement. In fact, we’ve been so busy playing with it and creating new videos with it that we haven’t had time for another #ToolTuesday post until now. But there was NO doubt that the Cricut Mug Press was going to be our next pick.

The Cricut Mug Press is a cylindrical heat press designed to be sublimate 12 oz and 15 oz ceramic mugs. For those who are unfamiliar with what sublimation is, it’s a process by which you use special sublimation ink, which turns into a gas when heated, to infuse designs onto a sublimation-friendly surface.

Cricut makes Infusible Ink Paper and Infusible Ink Pens and Markers, which you can use to create your own designs. However, you can also convert Epson EcoTank Printers into sublimation printers fairly easily so you can print out custom designs to apply to mugs and other sublimation-friendly surfaces. There’s SO much we want to tell you about sublimation, so be on the lookout for more content, tutorials, etc. in the near future.

For now, it’s back to why we love this little machine. At first, we weren’t keen on getting a Cricut Mug Press. We thought it could only do mugs, and really–who needs a bajillion more coffee mugs?

However, as we’ve shown in a few videos, it can sublimate WAY more than just mugs (see below). Knowing that was all it took, and we were off to the store to pick up a Cricut Mug Press.

The beauty of this machine (aside from its sleek look) is that it is so easy to use. There’s no questioning what temperature or what time you need to set. The Cricut Mug Press automatically detects the material and adjusts the time accordingly. You literally apply the design to the drinkware you want to sublimate, insert it into the machine, press down the lever, and it’ll beep when it’s done.

It’s quick, fun, and the results are phenomenal. We can’t recommend this great little machine enough!
