What do you get when you combine laser cutting and sublimation? Daniel calls it “sublasermation.” While that’s not an industry term (yet), it’s something we’ve been pretty passionate about. We LOVE crafting with our laser, and sublimation is hands down the best way to transfer graphics that we’ve found so far. So we’ve been exploring the intersection of laser cutting (and laser engraving) with sublimation over the last several months.
However, it’s not always easy to know which materials you can cut in a laser…or which ones take sublimation well. That why, for the last several months, we’ve been testing which materials work well for both laser cutting and sublimation. We found four that work really well…and that one really doesn’t (even though you think it should). So in today’s video tutorial, we show you:
Glowforge laser cutting settings for Unisub Sublimation Board and how to sublimate on unisub board,
Glowforge laser cutting settings for Sublimation Acrylic and how to sublimate on this new sublimation acrylic
Glowforge laser cutting settings for Clear Acrylic and how to sublimate on clear acrylic and white acrylic
Glowforge laser cutting settings for Wood and how to sublimate on wood
But before we get to the video, don’t forget that you can save bigtime on your Glowforge purchase:
